Our Book of the Month for October is Applying Skills 1-5
This stand-alone book provides banks of questions which have been written to complement any GCSE resources.
The questions focus on assessment objectives AO2 and AO3, ie. reasoning, interpreting, communicating and solving non-routine problems.
There are 41 sets of questions which can be used throughout the GCSE course or as more of a revisional aid. They may be tackled initially by groups of students to explore and discuss strategies or worked at individually.
25 sets of questions focus on grades 1–3 material but are often more challenging because of the AO2 and AO3 focus. The remaining 16 sets of questions focus on grades 4–5 topics (these are referenced by EXT in the section headings).
Some sections are specific to Number, Algebra, Geometry or Statistics only. Ratio and proportion run throughout these.
